Start with a relationship to the customer.
A founder who teaches a subject every week already hears the questions students repeat. Someone who runs a local business knows the daily workarounds. A creator may know which explanation finally makes a complicated idea click. Each has a way to notice a useful problem and bring an early solution to people who recognize it.
We call this distribution built into the starting point. It can be an audience, but it can also be trust in a small professional community, access to a recurring conversation, or a clear search question you know how to answer well.
Credibility has commercial value.
In IAB’s 2025 research, 58% of surveyed brands cited creator reputation and 56% cited audience alignment among their top selection criteria. The study surveyed more than 450 US advertising decision-makers whose budgets included creators. It shows what these buyers value in partnerships; it does not prove that followers automatically become software customers.
A small relevant audience can be enough to learn.
For an early product, the first distribution goal is a conversation with someone who has the problem. A hundred relevant people who trust you may be more useful for that purpose than a large audience interested in something else. You can also start without either: answer real questions, share useful work, and learn in public.
The content should help even if nobody buys. Show the workflow. Explain the decision. Share what went wrong and how you fixed it. That gives people a reason to return and gives you a way to discover whether the proposed product belongs in their lives.
Give every idea a route to its first users.
Before building, write down where the first ten relevant people might come from. Be specific: a community you participate in, a tutorial people search for, an existing customer relationship, or a partner who serves the same audience. Decide what would make the invitation useful to them.
This is why Fewfold looks for customer instinct and initiative alongside an idea. We can help build tools for content and go-to-market work. The founder brings a point of view and the commitment to earn trust. An existing following is an advantage, not an application requirement.
